Undergraduate Medical Education – New York
Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) is an important component of Medical Education and our Learning Institute. It is separate, but integrated, with the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Residency Programs to encourage students to apply to our programs.
Nuvance Health offers 3rd and 4th year Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine core rotations, as well as some elective rotations, such as Neurology and Anesthesia, for students with our partnered and affiliated schools at Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital, Sharon Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
4th year audition rotations
Each program has an allotted number of spots available to medical students for 4th year rotations. For students that are not partnered and affiliated with, we offer a one-time 4th year Program Letter of Agreement (PLA) for 4th year students interested in doing an audition rotation at one of our facilities. We strongly encourage students outside of our affiliated schools to reach out regarding these rotations. Currently, VSAS is not utilized for Nuvance Health auditions and housing is not offered for any rotations.
To meet the rotation deadline after rotation confirmation, paperwork must be completed and sent back within 30 days prior to the start date.
