
Christopher Stenberg,

Vice President, Graduate Medical Education
Dr. Christopher Stenberg serves as the Designated Institution Official (DIO) and Vice President of Graduate Medical Education overseeing all aspects of undergraduate (UME) and graduate medical education (GME) at Nuvance Health. As DIO, Dr. Stenberg ensures all programs maintain compliance with the requirements set forth by the accrediting body, the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Prior to joining Nuvance Health in 2017, Dr. Stenberg was the director of medical education and chair of pediatrics for Crozer-Keystone Health Systems in Pennsylvania. In this role, he led the department of pediatrics as well as the oversight of all undergraduate and graduate medical education within the system. He is a highly regarded physician educator, five times awarded the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital Residents’ Award for General Pediatrician of the Year.
Dr. Stenberg is board-certified in general pediatrics, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a graduate of the University of Auckland School of Medicine in Auckland, New Zealand. His residency training has taken him from New Zealand, to Australia, to New York. Dr. Stenberg is married with four children and resides in Poughkeepsie, NY.
