Culinary Adventures

From multiple farmers markets, including one close by on the Poughkeepsie waterfront to artisanal food producers, farm wineries, community supported agriculture, craft beverage makers, local distilleries, organic growers, and cheese makers, the raw materials of the Hudson Valley and northwestern Connecticut translate into some of the finest farm-to-table food and restaurants in America. This is the home of The Culinary Institute of America with five restaurants and its own craft brewery.

Sophisticated New York City types flock to the area every weekend to wine and dine and drink in the beautiful scenery. Poughkeepsie’s Main Street has recently become restaurant row and new arts initiatives are springing up all over the city. The Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck presents not only the county fair, but food and wine events, the Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival and so much more. It is truly impossible to be bored in the Hudson Valley!
